Fox Networks Group Asia awards development deals to 2 participants of inaugural Fox Creative Lab for Taiwan

Jimmy Hsu and Nien Hsiu Li, along with three other directors from Taiwan, completed the program on Sept. 20

The inaugural Fox Creative Lab: Taiwan 2018 began in May with the selection of participating directors and producers from Taiwan. That four-month intensive course concluded last week, and Fox Networks Group Asia announced that it is awarding development deals to two of the participants: Jimmy Hsu and Nien-Hsiu Li. Fox Creative Lab is an extension of the 21st Century Fox Global Inclusion talent development initiatives and aims to strengthen the pipeline of original storytellers for FNGA and increase the diversity of ideas in Asia’s film and TV industry. FOX Sports Kansas City and USO bring MLB greats and U.S. troops together for special Sept. 11 telecast

Kansas City Royals greats visit deployed troops in Middle East as part of FOX Sports Kansas City’s annual Sept. 11 broadcast

FOX Sports Kansas City recently partnered with nonprofit organization USO to bring Major League Baseball greats from the Kansas City Royals to American troops deployed to the Middle East. Hall-of-Famer George Brett, two-time Cy Young Award winner Bret Saberhagen, five-time All-Star Mike Sweeney and All-Star Reggie Sanders visited four locations and joined soldiers from the Missouri National Guard 35th Combat Aviation Brigade to watch the Sept. 11 Royals game at USO Camp Buehring in Kuwait. The overseas trip was initiated to link with the Royals’ Armed Forces Night at Kauffman Stadium and FOX Sports Kansas City’s annual “This One’s for You” telecast. Fox partners with CineCares Foundation to mentor Chicago youth in film and TV production

As production began on the upcoming fifth season of “Empire,” FOX’s Golden Globe-nominated drama series following the Lyon family’s exploits in the hip-hop industry, the show welcomed some new additions to its crew behind the scenes. A group of interns from the CineCares Foundation, a Chicago nonprofit providing education initiatives, joined colleagues in the Props, Wardrobe, Electric, Construction and other departments for the first 12 weeks of the shoot. The French One Panel, aka Grande Affiche, is a standard French movie poster with dimensions running roughly at 47 inches wide and 63 inches tall. These artifacts showcase a broad range of artistic styles and promotional techniques used by studios throughout the years and provides a unique insight into the distribution history of titles in a studio’s collection. 21CF wins 22 Emmy Awards, FX leads all basic cable networks

“The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” leads all limited series

This year, the Television Academy recognized 21st Century Fox with 22 Emmy Awards across its businesses. These wins include six Primetime Emmys and 16 Creative Arts Emmys. FX Networks led all basic cable networks with 12 awards. FX Productions and Fox 21’s “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” was the most awarded limited series with seven wins. Meanwhile, “The Americans,” which ended a distinguished six-season run on FX with its series finale in May, walked away from its last Emmys with awards for writing and lead actor in a drama series; and 20th Century Fox Television was awarded six Emmys as well. FOX News Channel announces Dr. Charles Krauthammer Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship will be awarded to children of FOX News and FOX Business Network colleagues

Last week, FOX News Channel announced that it is partnering with the National Merit Scholarship Program to establish the Dr. Charles Krauthammer Memorial Scholarship. Named after Dr. Krauthammer, who served as a FOX News contributor from 2002 up until his death in 2018, the scholarship will be awarded to eligible children of FOX News and FOX Business Network colleagues starting in 2020.
