“The Omen,” produced and distributed by 20th Century Fox Film, was the first in the horror movie series. It was released in U.S. theaters on June 25, 1976. Here’s the original publicity poster for the film, as well as the trailer:

“When Kathy Thorn (Lee Remick) gives birth to a stillborn baby, her husband Robert (Gregory Peck) substitutes an orphaned infant for their own – unaware of the child’s satanic origins,” according to 20th Century Fox UK’s official page for the film.

“The Omen” also starred David Warner, Billie Whitelaw and Harvey Stephens. The film was directed by Richard Donner and written by David Seltzer.

The Fox Archives is mandated to collect, catalog, preserve and make accessible the following assets of the 20th Century Fox studios: props, set decoration, photographs, art department and publicity materials from our film and television productions, and from the 20th Century Fox studio itself. We work primarily with internal Fox groups but also from time to time with outside organizations such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry.
