“The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” leads all limited series
This year, the Television Academy recognized 21st Century Fox with 22 Emmy Awards across its businesses. These wins include six Primetime Emmys and 16 Creative Arts Emmys. FX Networks led all basic cable networks with 12 awards. FX Productions and Fox 21’s “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” was the most awarded limited series with seven wins. Meanwhile, “The Americans,” which ended a distinguished six-season run on FX with its series finale in May, walked away from its last Emmys with awards for writing and lead actor in a drama series; and 20th Century Fox Television was awarded six Emmys as well.
“The recognition you received from the Television Academy reflects your dedication to engaging and delighting audiences with an incredible breadth and depth of quality storytelling. We are proud of, and grateful for, your tremendous work,” said Executive Chairman Lachlan Murdoch and CEO James Murdoch in an internal memo.

- Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series: Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg, “The Americans” (FX Networks, FX Productions, Fox 21)
- Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series: Matthew Rhys, “The Americans” (FX Networks, FX Productions, Fox 21)
- Outstanding Limited Series: “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” (FX Networks, FX Productions, Fox 21)
