21st Century Fox’s television storytelling excellence was recognized today with 98 nominations for the 2018 Primetime Emmy Awards. Here’s a breakdown of 21CF’s nominations:
FX Networks: 50 nominations
“The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” received 18 nominations, including Outstanding Limited Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie (Darren Criss). With 16 nominations, “Atlanta” was the most nominated comedy. The show received recognition in the Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Donald Glover) categories. “American Horror Story: Cult,” “The Americans,” “Baskets,” “Better Things” and “Legion” also received nominations.
FOX: 16 nominations
“So You Think You Can Dance” received five nominations, including four for Outstanding Choreography. “Family Guy,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “The Simpsons,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “A Christmas Story Live!,” “Empire” and “Gotham” also received nominations.
National Geographic: 17 nominations
“Genius: Picasso” led the way for National Geographic with seven nominations, including one for Outstanding Limited Series. The documentary “Jane” also received seven nominations, including one for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking. “Life Below Zero” and “StarTalk with Neil deGrasse Tyson” also received nominations. In addition to National Geographic’s 17 nominations, Nat Geo WILD was recognized with a nomination for “Savage Kingdom.”
20th Century Fox Television and Fox 21 earned 59 nominations this year, tying their combined second highest number ever, including recognition for “This Is Us” and “Homeland.” FX Productions also earned 41 nominations.
