To mark Veterans Day (Saturday, Nov. 11) in the U.S., FOX Sports hosted a number of special programming events this past weekend. From Thursday through Sunday, FOX Sports invited active military members and veterans to be part of live studio audiences and took some of its shows on the road to Pier 10 on the Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia.

“FOX Sports has a long history honoring the armed services by broadcasting shows live from military locations around the world including from the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman on patrol in the Mediterranean Sea in 2000, a U.S. military installation in Afghanistan in 2009, and from Pearl Harbor in 2015,” said FOX Sports President and Executive Producer Eric Shanks. “To commemorate this Veterans Day, we’re excited to take FOX NFL KICKOFF and FOX NFL SUNDAY to the Naval Station Norfolk to support the servicemen and women who make it possible for us to live in freedom and security.”

FS1 began the weekend-long Veterans Day tribute by hosting active and reserve military personnel in FOX Sports’ Charlotte, North Carolina studios to be part of a live studio audience for NASCAR RACE HUB.

On Friday, military personnel were welcomed to Los Angeles to be part of a live studio audience and appear on-air for SKIP AND SHANNON: UNDISPUTED and THE HERD WITH COLIN COWHERD. Meanwhile, FOX Sports’ Charlotte studios hosted active and retired military servicemen and women on the set of NCWTS SETUP, the popular NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pre-race show.

On Veterans Day, FOX Sports’ Los Angeles studios hosted military members for the College Football Pregame show on FOX and FS1, where FOX College Football host and Air Force veteran Mike Hill works during halftimes and breaks during games broadcast on FOX and FS1. Later in the day, FOX NFL Insider Jay Glazer and UFC welterweight and Army veteran Neil Magny hosted an FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT viewing party on the Naval Station Norfolk.

The Veterans Day tribute ended Sunday with FOX NFL KICKOFF and FOX NFL SUNDAY crews broadcasting live from Pier 10 on the Naval Station Norfolk. FOX talent was shown around the naval base in segments during the shows.

FOX Sports Supports, the charitable arm of FOX Sports, dedicated its support to Snowball Express, committed to serving the children and families of our fallen heroes since 9/11. Their annual event out of Dallas is designed to honor the sacrifices of their parents and spouses while building new and happy memories for these Gold Star families for years to come. Features honoring this organization and its mission aired throughout the tribute weekend.
