FOX Sports launched in 1994 as a single network with just one sport. Now, it is paving the way in sports broadcasting. Last week, FOX Sports celebrated its birthday on the Fox Studios Lot in Los Angeles with an inaugural Founders Day, kicking off its 24th NFL season. During the celebration, which will now be an annual event, colleagues were encouraged to step away from their desks and join in the festivities, recognizing the many accomplishments of FOX Sports over its 24 years.
On the Fox Lot, FOX Sports kicked off the day with an executive dunk tank hosted by sideline reporter Jenny Taft. All proceeds from the dunk tank went to the American Red Cross’ hurricane relief efforts. Colleagues also participated in “BIG3”-style 3-on-3 basketball games called by Gus Johnson, Jim Jackson and Ice Cube; an FS1 Trivia Battle, where colleagues squared up against Colin Cowherd, Jason Whitlock, Jason McIntyre and Mark Schlereth; and a wiffle ball tournament called by Chris Myers and Frank Thomas.
Offices across the country participated in FOX Sports’ first Founders Day with their own celebrations.
