In honor of Pi Day, we look back at the film “Life of Pi” (2012) based on the novel by Yann Martel. This adventurous story created beautiful concept art, which was transformed onto the screen.
“Life of Pi,” produced and distributed in the U.S. by Fox 2000 Pictures and distributed in several other countries by 20th Century Fox Film, won four Oscars at the 85th Academy Awards: Best Cinematography, Best Directing, Best Music (Original Score) and Best Visual Effects. The film was nominated in 11 total categories that year.

The Fox Archives is mandated to collect, catalog, preserve and make accessible the following assets of the 20th Century Fox studios: props, set decoration, photographs, art department and publicity materials from our film and television productions, and from the 20th Century Fox studio itself. We work primarily with internal Fox groups but also from time to time with outside organizations such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry.
