Today, 21st Century Fox announced that it’s leading an $8 million B funding round for theSkimm, which curates news, events and information for millennials. The multi-platform audience company is aligned with 21CF’s endeavors to reach broader, more meaningful audiences across all platforms.

theSkimm, founded by entrepreneurs Danielle Weisberg and Carly Zakin about four years ago, reaches more than 3.5 million active subscribers with the Daily Skimm, a newsletter that serves as its core product. Last month, the company launched a paid subscription app, Skimm Ahead. theSkimm will use the funds from the 21CF-led round to produce video content under a new umbrella called Skimm Studios and expand its suite of millennial-focused products, among other things.
