21st Century Fox hosted a special screening of 20th Century Fox Film’s “X-Men: Apocalypse” last night at the Ham Yard Hotel in London. Executive Chairmen Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch shared remarks at the event and were joined by special guests James McAvoy and Ben Hardy, who star in the action film. Also in attendance were friends of 21CF, business partners and other VIPs.
The screening was part of the 21CF Presents series, which showcases theatrical releases and programming from 21CF’s businesses.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” follows “Deadpool” (2016) and “X-Men: Days of Future Past” (2014) as the latest installment of the X-Men franchise. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, is the antagonist in the newest X-Men film. Faced with a world he loathes, he recruits a powerful team of mutants to create a new world order, over which he will reign. The X-Men are faced with the challenge of stopping their most formidable enemy to save mankind.
The film stars James and Ben, along with a star-studded cast that includes Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac and Nicholas Hoult. Bryan Singer directs “X-Men: Apocalypse,” which is produced by Simon Kinberg, Hutch Parker and Lauren Shuler Donner. Stan Lee is an executive producer, and Simon wrote the screenplay.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” hits North American theaters May 27.
