The second season of FOX’s hit musical drama “Empire” continues with its spring premiere on Wednesday, March 30, at 9 p.m. EDT/PDT. The episode, titled “Death Will Have His Day,” will reveal the aftermath of the show’s midseason finale.
The first part of Season 2 ended with “Et Tu, Brute?” which was an hour-long episode capping off the first 10 episodes of the season with no shortage of drama, tension and cliffhangers. The spring premiere will kick off the final eight episodes of Season 2.
During the show’s hiatus, “Empire” won five NAACP Image Awards on Feb. 5, including Outstanding Drama Series.
“Empire” stars Terrence Howard as Lucious Lyon, Golden Globe winner Taraji P. Henson as Cookie Lyon, Jussie Smollett as Jamal Lyon, Bryshere “Yazz” Gray as Hakeem Lyon, Trai Byers as Andre Lyon, Grace Gealey as Anika Calhoun, Kaitlin Doubleday as Rhonda Lyon, Gabourey Sidibe as Becky, Ta’Rhonda Jones as Porsha and Serayah McNeill as Tiana.
The guest cast includes Naomi Campbell as Camilla, Andre Royo as “Thirsty” Rawlings, Yanira Marin as Carmen, Raquel Castro as Marisol, Jamila Velazquez as Laura, Max Beesley as Guy, William Fichtner as Jamieson and Miss Lawrence as himself.
The show was renewed for a third season, as announced by Fox Television Group chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman in January.
